What is the time gap between your dinner and bedtime?

We asked people the same, watch the video or read to know what majority of them said.

The most contentious meal of the day is DINNER.

There are several connections between your dinner and your sleep.

First let’s understand what time should be left between dinner and bedtime?

When asked the same question, 51% of respondents claimed it would take them 1.5 hours. But what should the optimum time interval be? As per the sources, the minimum amount of time between dinner and bedtime is 2 hours.

But why?

Because eating dinner late is riskier than you might imagine! As a result, while we sleep, our bodies are generally healing. If we eat in the evening, our body does not have enough time to digest the food. And during that sleep, when our bodies should ideally be healing themselves, that time is now spent on digesting and breaking down the food.

The opposite is also true: if you eat too early but go to bed late, you might feel hungry again and grab something to eat, and the cycle repeats.

The best way for your body to digest food is upright since it makes for simple digestion. After a light dinner, lying down right away can result in heartburn and GERD symptoms as the stomach contents can reflux into the esophagus. If your stomach is not completely empty by the time you go to bed, this is more likely to occur.

Is there a best time to eat dinner?

After eating dinner, it is typically advisable to wait two to three hours before going to bed. Post-sunset, our metabolism also slows down. Our forefathers tended to eat dinner before or around dusk because of this. This decreases the possibility of numerous digestive problem symptoms by giving your body enough time for digestion and for the contents of your stomach to migrate into the small intestine. It is recommended to have dinner before 8 PM or at least 2 hours before going to bed. It is not just about when we eat, it’s also about what we eat to sleep well. Additionally, waiting a few hours after your last meal before going to bed will lessen your risk of developing sleep difficulties and gaining weight.

What should you eat for dinner to keep your health in check?

It is advised that you have a little dinner to satisfy your hunger but if you find yourself still hungry after a few hours. You can eat foods that are minimal in calories and simple to digest and are also suggested for that extra excellent sleep. Some examples are:

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Eggs
  • Bananas
  • Almonds
  • Kiwi
  • Chamomile tea
  • Cherry juice
  • Fish
  • Walnuts

You might need to adjust your daily routine for excellent health in order to live a healthy life. Keep your meal light to prevent health problems and eat two hours before bed. After all, getting a good night's sleep is crucial for maintaining physical health. So eat the appropriate meal at the right time - if you need that peaceful sleep!

Happy Sleeping! :)
